I couldn't imagine myself listening to one band/artist so much repeatedly. I know I scrobble some artists a lot, but it alternates. Props to you, and it shows how much you love them though.

And I am trying to get into Smashing Pumpkins, but they don't do much for me

My interests in life tend to single out one particular thing, be that one friend, one artist, one television series, one series of books, one medium of visual art, one forum, etc. and I run with it fiercely until something tops it, or it stops generating new material for my consumption. Personality quirk.

Okay, okay, you didn't explicitly state that you were interested, though.

Let's see. Both Blutengel and The Frozen Autumn are primarily rooted in darkwave/synthpop, very romantic, Gothic, and dark. Blutengel have a more EBM approach, heavily incorporate danceable synthesizers, as well as some more operatic, epic pieces that sounds symphonic.

The Frozen Autumn are more subtle and introverted, drawing influence from Clan of Xymox. They have more of an atmospheric sound as well.

Faith and the Muse combine elements of Gothic, darkwave, post-punk, ethereal, celtic, classical, and folk. Gorgeous female vocals and the occasional male vocal. Monica Richards (frontwoman) used to be part of Madhouse and Strange Boutique, and was a big part of the punk scene in the 80s. William Faith is the primary guitarist and sings all male vocals. He was part of Christian Death for awhile. I'm obsessed with them at the moment.

The Cruxshadows are also in the Darkwave/EBM vein, sort of like Blutengel, but slightly toned down on the theatrics. Also more guitar-driven at times.


Susanne Sundfor is hard to describe. There are elements of classical, jazz, noir, electronic, atmospheric, and ambient in her music all blended together seamlessly. Her vocals are eerie and ethereal.

Ah, thanks. That's sort of what I figured I was looking at. It's been a long time since I've heard any darkwave or the like. I may have to give some of those a listen.

The Smashing Pumpkins aren't bad nor hard to get into. At least in my opinion and from my experience.
Try listening to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness if you haven't already Goofle.

Smashing Pumpkins were pretty important to me when Gish came out after Gish it was all just banal...or maybe i had progressed(regressed) in my taste....i'll through Gish on everyone now and then for memories....but even now it's a bit hard to listen to....same with Ned's Atomic Dustbin.....thought i would be a fan for life where they were concerned.....i laugh when i hear them now

I have done in the past and recently. I suppose "get into" was the wrong phrase, I think most of their albums are fine, I just don't think I care all that much for their music overall. Siamese Dream is my favourite of theirs.
