I dunno I always put OKC and Kid A on a completely even plane... mostly for vastly different reasons... kid A is the more mysterious, experimental side of the band whereas OKC makes the bigger lyrical statement, both albums, in my opinion, showcase a band that is totally at the top of it's game...

Still monumental to me after all those listens and something like twelve ears legacy... a definite recent classic in my mind...
I read an earlier post on hear praising Godrich's production work on OKC.... and i gotta agree, the production on the album is absolutely spot on, beautiful.... it takes these amazing songs and makes them soar even higher and with it's blend of traditional rock instrumentation and electronic elements, it perfectly underscores the sense of postmodern traditonal vs. postmopdern nothingness future the album is trying to at least partly highlight... a great job! |
