Now this I'm jealous of. Wouldn't have taken you for a Primus fan...

Skid Row and L.A. Guns w/ Firehouse in November. I'm not expecting great music but it's fun stuff, I kinda like L.A. Guns and the tickets are cheap.

Skid Row and L.A. Guns? :D Holy shit I didn't know either of them were still together/touring. More than likely together again, for money and all that. I remember getting my cassette of Cocked & Loaded autographed at a record store signing in 1989 or 1990. And Skid Row's Slave to the Grind was one of the first 2 CDs I ever purchased (of course I had the debut on cassette).

I think my next show is going to be Killing Joke in San Francisco in December. They are one of the few bands I will travel over 200 miles to see.

MOGWAI tickets - buy tickets for MOGWAI from Seetickets.com

The Newcastle Mogwai gig is at The Sage which is a concert hall. They also have a smaller gig room but I am hoping they are in one of the concert halls as the acoustics in there are simply tremendous.

Skid Row and L.A. Guns had hiatuses after grunge killed hair metal but they came back in the late 90s when their kind of music tolerated again. I only know 3 songs by FireHouse and never read up on them, so I don't know if they had a hiatus. I'm just hoping for some lulz when they perform. I mean I'm really into hair metal and think some of it is genuinely cool, but definitely not FireHouse. So you grew up with hair metal? What was it like when alternative rock took over and the fun stopped?

Fat Freddy's Drop next weekend (I'm sure I have mentioned it before!)

Supersonic Festival next month which includes Godflesh and Melt Banana sounds enticing but maybe too difficult to attend due to various things.

Other than that there is either:

Faithless or Dreadzone in B'ham in early december or a 3 band Thrash gig in Germany (Kreator, Death Angel & someone I can't remember) all happening over the Friday and Saturday so hopefully I can make at least one of these.

Oh man, i really want to go to Supersonic. Swans, Melt Banana and Napalm Death? Mmmhmm.

If you do go mate, check out a band called Bong and let me know what you think. They are really slow, Sleep-inspired, psychedelic, stoner/doom kinda stuff. I've been going to see them do the rounds in the pubs and clubs in Newcastle for a few years now.

Yeah man I've heard lots of great things about The Sage. My friend who lives there for uni went to see Eels and Grizzly Bear there and said the venue is just spectacular.

I'm unsure whether to go yet, Manchester Academy is an absolute bomb of a venue and I just don't feel the need to see them again cos the first time was so good.
