Agreed. The guy makes one halfway decent album and suddenly he's a God?

Can`t sing to save his life.

Every Babyshambles track i`ve heard usually gets the same response.....

"Hmmm that just sounds like a really bad version of a *insert 90s Britpop band here* song.

hmm...well, i don't own the cribs album, and have subsequently been quite disgusted by them, but at least they didn't have some bad boy reputation...which was my original point...their music really doesn't fit their image....and that put me off.....but i still think their music is nothing special....

the libertines were all about the shambolic, hedonistic facade - hence the name the "libertines". their music was a reflection of their zest for life and excess. they werrent "bad boys", they were young men living life to its shambolic full. its why some people like me love them, and others hate them. it depends what your outlook on music is.

to be honest, i dont mind if people do hate them because i can see where their coming from. on the other hand, to me their fun, exuberant and wild, characteristics i feel were sadly lacking in british music up until the release of Up the Bracket. they put life back into the scene and like them or not you cannot fault them for that - nor the influence they've had. plus, i personally can identify with doherty and barats lyrics - which is important to me.
