Tarbox Ramblers> your soul

America wins and nothing outside of hard bias would lead anyone to say otherwise.

HURR DURR no you weren't

Mostly all of my favorite bands are British so yeah that's where I stand on it. But to say The Supremes and the Temptations aren't excellent, is just wrong. Shame on you James.

^Never gave them much of a chance, it's worth it then?

Sansa Stark 06-04-2010 01:20 PM

We have that in common, as most of my favourite bands are British too. The Temptations are sweet as.

The majority of the younger generation will more than likely go for the Brits as #1, since Britian has ruled the music scene with outstanding bands & artist since the 60s invasion, and most of the younger people may not really relate to any era or genre of music before the 80s since meca bands from Britian has been they're main musical influence, rock, metal, and so on.
In order to obtain a balanced perspective you have to consider the fact that Rock & Roll originated in the States during the 50s with blues, gospel, country, etc., so the younger guys/gals may not relate to the music of that certain era at all, except for the most popular artist like Elvis or Buddy Holly for instance, even then only by name and maybe not so much the actual music itself, as so they shouldnt be expected to consider or relate to the influence and talent a band like the Temptations had, or to be compared to a popular British band like The Who, for example.

Its still fun to name off and compare bands with each other though :)

It is fun with X saying we have this one, and Y saying we have that one. But it will never bring us to a conclusion. In my eyes the Brits had the 60s, 80s, 90s were questionable and the 00s were a clear winner for the Americans. Not really sure about 70s.
