The battle of the MP3 Players

This Holiday season, it seemed to me that there was a flood of people yearning to have the latest and greatest MP3 players. I'm interested to see what ppl feel is the best MP3 player on the market to date, and why.

kid the Nike Rio is where its at

The iPod is still the best MP3 player, but its price is ridiculous. I refuse to buy it under it drops under 200 dollars. But if you do have the money to buy it then do, because it's the best on the market. I've got a bunch of friends that have them and they're in love. There's only one problem and that's the battery. I hear that once the battery goes that there's no replacement and you have to buy a whole new iPod. However, I think it happens to everyone and the people it happens to takes like 2-3 years before there's a problem.

I've heard really good things about the RIO Karma...they say that it's just as good as the 20GB ipod just 100 dollars less...maybe i'll look into that

me and my brother got Rios back like 3 years ago but they both broke...twas a sad day for us all :yeah:

how could it possibly be useless?!
They are cheaper, and WAY better on battery time! You can have as many songs as you want (cheap, small discs, portable)...they are great.

I agree with Spencer on the iPod, esspecially the new mini. The price isn't too shabby on them either.

Although I like cd based players, such as the Philips I have. Works great.

I wouldn't mind buying an mp3 player, but I've yet to find what I'd like. It should have 200 gb or more space, support a ****eload of formats and preferably function as an external harddrive meaning you don't have to do everything through iTunes ..

Anyone know if something like that exists?

200 GB? Jesus Chist. Isn't there some of your music that you don't feel you need to have?

Of course, but I know there are ipods that have 160, so 200 shouldn't necessarily be that much of a stretch.

I don't know of anyone that is 200 gb but I have a 120 gb Zune and it works with different formats. You have to use the Zune software but it doesn't automatically convert everything to mp4 format like iTunes does. I honestly think it's the best mp3 player I've ever owned, it's got a nice big screen, an awesome touch pad, and the ability to transfer songs from one Zune to another.

iTunes doesn't do that.

I also have a 120GB Zune and I love it. The only thing I didn't like were the headphones that came with it (the regular ones break within a few months b/c the thing above the jack disconnects, and the premium ones wouldn't fit in my ears). But it's not difficult to go out and buy a cheap pair of earbuds. The actual device is perfect, I'm not much of a fan of the software but I only use it to sync my music, I use MediaMonkey for everything else.

You need an external hard drive w/ a headphone jack.
