Greatest artist ever? VOTE OR DIE.

Pablo Picasso.

TrampInaTux 06-03-2006 12:55 PM

For me it's gonna have to be David Bowie. He breathes rock and roll.

explosions-in-my-pants 06-03-2006 12:58 PM

Judas Priest... they are Rock N' Roll, they are the greatist of all Metal gods.

I thought Chameleon glam whore summed him up perfectly

cardboard adolescent 06-03-2006 04:00 PM

I thought that was a generally accepted sentiment. Doesn't mean he hasn't put out some good stuff.

Wow, that's the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Has anyone seen Un Chien Andalou? I do believe Debaser is based on it. Pretty twisted little short film.

Ah, Geopoliticus Child Watching The Birth Of The New Man, one of my favorites... I have 3 of his paintings hanging in my room... The Persistance Of Memory, Swans Reflecting Elephants and Bacchanale.... Unfortunately those are the only ones i could find.

It's hard to find really good paintings at say, Freds Discount Stores.... They have a big gallery of paintings for sale, but it's mostly just paintings of barns and chickens.

cardboard adolescent 06-03-2006 11:58 PM

I have Swans Reflecting and Metamorphosis of Narcissus.

You know, I went last year, in March, to see a Dali exhibit in Philadelphia. I think, what I like more than the surreal-acid trip type subject matter, are the sharp, clear lines he uses. It appeals to my OCD. LOL. Nice and neat.

What's really great about his stuff is that it's neatly arranged chaos. I like that.

As far as my favorite artist, I've always been partial to Andrew Wyeth.

Oh, and here:

http://www.art.com

You might be able to find some Dali prints there.

I like Kandinsky, and the photographer Henri Cartier Bresson. Mhhh, and Esher has some cool stuff!

TrampInaTux 06-04-2006 04:15 AM

This is greatest musical artist... not as in an actual artist...

Piss Me Off 06-04-2006 04:16 AM

What with it being a Music Forum and everything....

Mozzer for me.

TrampInaTux 06-04-2006 04:19 AM

I thought you all would have got that due to it being in the General Music forum. But some people obviously have the common sense of a lemming. A poll was originally meant to go with this, but my computer played up (again) and started flickering around, and I clicked the submit thread by accident.

And that, my friends, is a darn good excuse for MY lack of common sense.

cardboard adolescent 06-04-2006 10:28 AM

I think nobody really cares. Just another useless thread, might as well make it a little interesting.
