Not hands down.

But yeah they deserve a mention, Revolver is a really cool cover.

Sound Devastation 10-23-2006 01:12 PM

i dont think much of their other album art, but yeah.. the guy who did Revolver is pretty good.

someone else worth a mention here is Raymond Pettibon (sp?).. who did the famous Black Flag stripes.. as well as most of the Sonic Youth covers.

I've always been a BIG Frank Kozik fan, he mostly does flyer art for bands but he has done some album covers (Offspring's Americana off the top of my head)

Flip through the gallery, Frank's contribution to music is far too big to be ignored:

My favoirte cover artist is Roger Dean, followed by all the swell folks at Hipgnosis.

I quite liked The Clash's Cover art....it was excellent.

manc_ill_kid 10-26-2006 04:36 PM

The Plimptons cover art is pretty good, they do it themselves and most of them are pro comic book artists

My boyfriend bought me this for my birthday!

http://www.circletakesthesquare.com/...erch/tower.gif

for those who can't tell its by Drew Speziale, the guy behind CTTS's and Kylesa's artwork.

he send a free CTTS poster and a photocopy of another print too! :D

Nobody beats Tool. I firmly believe that in order to get the full experience of Tool as the band intended, you should consume some natural psychadelcs (mushrooms, mescaline, etc.), listen to an entire album really loud and study the album art at the same time. It'll change your life.

Raine 12-04-2006 04:28 PM

Incubus has some pretty cool art on their cd's. Like their Monring View album. the CD looked pretty spiffy.

I like Dirty Pretty Things's album art for Waterloo.

Its not a poster!! its a hand-numbered and signed silk screen print! ;)

Baroness was selling some water blown prints at their show and they were pretty sweet.

I saw some of the other stuff of who ever does Tool album art [can't remember his name] and it was really nice.
