Blues Traveler
I didnt see a thread dedicated to the discussion of this band..so I thought I would start one.
What do you all think about them? |
I like them, but only in small doses. Favourite song would probably be Price to Pay.
|
I saw them at the smallest venue ever a few years ago and the vibe was way cool...my cousin actually caught John's harp..highlight of his life...I like all of ther Four album.
|
You know, for a glorified bar band they had some pretty cool lyrics. Hook was mighty fantastic I thought. I have a pension for the folk inspired bands. No artsy ambient space effects or deep meaningful moaning. Regular guys strumming simple chord progressions about real life stuff. No posturing, no pretense. More vibe and feel than anything else.
|
^^ Exactly. Couldnt say it better myself.
|
I'd like to give these a try.
Any links...myspace etc? |
Oh no I can upload some for you.
|
Wait how do you..I can do it right now.
|
Use sendspace and upload the file. On completion, cut and paste the link here. :)
|
Cool beans working on it right now.

I see what Big3 means about the simple folk style. Love the way it upped pace after that (what was that?) solo. Thanks again, I'll chase some more. Edit:  If you put the album you want to send as a whole...transfer it to a zip file. That way you can upload the whole thing in one go. |
No problemo...I do have okay taste in music.

Ooooooh I have to revive this thread because I'm on a Blues Traveler kick right now. I can't stop listening. So here, I present you with a link to the full album of Four. My mom had this on tape and used to blast it in the car (while driving to the beach, for example), and it's a great great jam record. I'm starting to understand more about my musical taste but reliving the 90s era of "my mom music" that just stays with me, it seems.
Tracklist - 1. Run-around 2. Stand 3. Look Around 4. Fallible 5. The Mountain Win Again 6. Freedom 7, Crash Burn 8. Price To Pay 9. Hook 10. The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly 11. Just Wait 12. Brother John Sorry for all the necromancy but this is the only thread on MB about this band and I think there might be some hidden haters/lovers out there somewhere. =D |
Love that album MPT. "Straight On 'Til Morning" is another fine album by these blues/pop oriented musicians. They really exploded with "Four" though, and rightfully so. My favorite tune they do is probably this one (off of ^ SOTM):
It really showcases their blues roots. |
Thanks for posting that, Plankton! I hoped that someone would come forth and recommend me some other stuff by them!
Great track. |
