Default What You Hope To See In 2007

Just say one thing you`d like to see musically this year & then say something you hope to see the back of.....

Want to see : Bands mixing many different genres creating something different that i`m not sure that I like at first but keeps me listening & trying to figure it out.

Want to see the back of : Swedish indie pop , seriously are there factories in Sweden churning out twee indie pop by the truckload or something?
I don`t actually mind it but it seems every blog , every website is recommending some scandinavian C86 revisionist and it`s beginning to get on my tits.

Want to see: Something that will stop me dead in my tracks and blow me away.
It has to be original and preferably be a brand new sound.
The kind of thing that comes along only once in a lifetime...asking a lot, I know.

Want to see the back of: Prefabricated bands, that are packaged to suit the 'in' genre of the day and rammed down everybody's throat at the expense of true talent.

Something truly decent to make it out of Wales, past few years all we've had to represent us are Funeral for a friend, Lost prophets and Bullet for my valentine, talk about an embarassment, and stereophonics....they suck too.

I want to see: A new Electric Wizard album for starters, and on the whole, I'd want to see some of the huge Northern Hemisphere doom scene take some effect down here in New Zealand.

I want to see the back of: I can't think of anything! The Black Eyed Peas perhaps??!!

Haha, that's exactly what I'd like to see.

Want to see: Tom Waits and Tori Amos write a song together.

Want to see the back of: Nickleback, The black eyed peas (including it's solo off-shoots) and James Blunt.

I want to see more experimentation in Post-Rock. There are a lot of good bands making it right now, but there are a ****load more aping all the big bands and not really doing anything with it. I'm sick of having to wade through a ton of crap, and I really just want a few really different bands to make it big this year.

I want to see less genre fads, stuff like Baile Funk, Kuduro, Nu Rave, etc. It seems like the internet, instead of creating bands who're truly different and unique, just makes it easier for more and more bands to jump on bandwagons.
