How To Annoy A Bland Indie Band
|
That is ****ing brilliant.
Some of the comments below the video are a bit ridiculous I think. "dat is quite funny. but its tight on luke he obviously didnt wanna talk bout that stuff." Yes, if you don't want to talk about something probably the best thing to do is write a song about it, get your band to play that song and then get your record company to force the song down everybody's throats on the tv and radio. That IS a good way to avoid having to talk about something. And why on earth do bands even agree to be interviewed if they plan on just sitting there and barely responding to the interviewer's questions??? |
Exactly what I was thinking.
If you don`t want your songs discussed don`t write them. |
 Fucking brill!! Luke is a retard...( despite "Naive" being the number one track on my last.fm list :giggles: )
|
How long did he go on about that ****ing 'I dont want to call it stage school' crap? Bloody hell man, you went to stage school, deal with it!! He went to The BRIT School:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BRIT_School = stage school. Even if he didn't have to learn ballet. |
Heh, I actually thought they were saying "state school", bloody accents...
|
No, probably if they'd said he had been to a state school he would have jumped on it and started going "Thaas right I went to state school 'cos im workin class fru and fru, me. Salt ov the erf guv. Come from nuffin guv" and **** like that.

A pretty girl is running towards you , It`s Katie Melua
 |
Well, if they interview like that then I'd label them little bitches regardless of where they went to school.
But yes, they are whining about being labelled little bitches. The little, whiny bitches. I think that kind of thing sucks and makes the band look bad, when they don't want people to know certain things about the band like that or if they want to put a big spin on it. It's one thing to make up false rumours about your band for sensation-based publicity. That kind of thing is fun. But denying simple realities like where you went to school just makes you seem like a bull****ter. Incidentally, Towers of London are another band that are hilarious when you look at where they are really from. |

I`ve never understood this fascination with pretending to be working class anyway.
The Stones were middle class , so were Pink Floyd , Queen , Joe Strummer it never did them any harm. |
Didn't Joe Strummer try really hard to hide that fact?

I don't know about Joe Strummer. But I don't see how being a punk and being middle class or even posh is any kind of contradiction, although I expect somebody could explain it to me. |

Hehe, 'menewer' :D
yeah but seriously they should have atleast had a laugh with it, miserable gits! Ah well.... |
Who gives a f*** where they went to school. Lou Reed went to Syracuse University. I was reading a article by Lester Bangs today about the Clash where he called all this stuff about credibilty being bulls***, that the point of rock n' roll is that its an arena in which you can reinvent yourself. Strummer was middle class. So what?
What matters is that the Kooks are s*** and that they probably sold more records than the Velvet Underground hence the scorn. |
Nobody is saying being middle class is a bad thing. But why would you try & hide your roots when asked about it?
The guy went to stage school , so what? I guess he thought he loses indie cred points if he admits it. Either way he comes across as a totally fake idiot. |
