Best Band: Round 1: Poll J
You guys know the drill.
I'm going with Polvo, great band. |
Polvo, no contest.
Bright Eyes
Bright Eyes.
Polvo will probably go down, but it's worth a shot.

Get Up Kids
Carcass wins this by default.
bright eyezzzz
I'm glad to see the best music to ever exist is winning. I would also like to take this moment to tell everyone I am seeing bright eyes in March.
Bright Eyes don't have shit on Polvo.
Nine inch nails
From what I've heard, Nine Inch Nails. Polvo were close competition, Bright Eyes is very pretty. The Get Up Kids were no competition and I've no idea who Carcass are.

Polvo does write lyrics, MTV and VH1, never really sponsored them though. Their big thing they are famous for though is actually their music. |
Oberst has more than one theme to his song lyrics. So don't make it seem liek he is the casualties or some **** band like that.
I knew I was going to get attacked because of my comment.
I was trying to make the point: Polvo > Bright Eyes Honestly, I wouldn't give a **** if Oberst had 200 themes to his song lyrics, it's the actual music that I care about. And if his lyrics are so great and what makes his band so awesome, Oberst should be in the poetry profession instead of the music profession. |

I don't think anyone said Bright Eyes has original song ideas, that wouldn't be a selling point ever. Imagine: "This band is good because they wrote this song about a mountain rescue pelican that was raised by St. Bernards but gave up that life to be a dentist." Thats stupid. And if you don't like lyrics maybe then you should live in an elevator. Bright Eyes, while faultable on many points, has some of the better lyrics in music today. And trying to pin them on minimal themes is foolish. How many careers are built solely on lvoe songs. Get Real. |
He actually used to write good songs, before he sucked, unlike the bands you enjoy, who just suck.
Bright Eyes wins comfortably.

As for trying to appeal to 'emo' kids and being 'emo' poetry, I won't even get into the fact you even use the word emo, but you've basically shown your full knowledge on the subject. Congrats on bashing something you havn't even listened to! Disclaimer: as a mod i'm totally allowed to be a bitch and post in a lock thread and get the last word. :pimp: |
