Best Debut Album: Round 1: Poll A

I went ahead and decided to post it, I got PMs from most of my help and none of them had a problem with the way it was set up, I think I did a good job.

So to people who weren't around for the last set of these, I post two polls and they stay open for three days and you vote for whatever you feel like, in this case the debut album you like best, think is the best or whatever. The top two go onto the next round.

If people (swim and matious) could find links for the albums, that'd be appreciated.

How can I not give it to Seven Churches. That album created Death Metal.

toughie between waits an arcade fire >.<

Despite my love of Curtis Mayfield.

Stone Roses.

PopIsDead 05-21-2007 05:35 PM

It's extremely close between Funeral and Closing Time for me. I think I'll have to go with Funeral though.

PopIsDead 05-21-2007 05:36 PM

In my opinion, Larry LaLonde is infinitely better in Primus than in Possessed. Sorry.

I don't care how good he was, that is the album that created Death Metal. Though you could say Death would've created it anyways, but that is why I nominated Scream Bloody Gore.

I bet I'd like Curtis Mayfield, but I havn't heard anything yet.

It's between Tom Waits and Arcade Fire, but Tom Waits because he's 100x better.

Yeah, my opinion is kinda biased because I hate death metal passionately. Sorry.

DearJenny 05-22-2007 06:23 AM

Funeral is my choice.

I can see Arcade fire coming top here but it has got to be the classic baggy indie album for me.

TheBig3 05-22-2007 06:26 PM

Waits

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 05-22-2007 08:11 PM

Umm.

Funeral.

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-23-2007 11:53 AM

It was between the Roses & Curtis , But I went for the Roses in the end.

Surprised to see Closing Time doing so well , Most Tom Waits fans I know don't think it's anything special.

adidasss 05-23-2007 01:10 PM

Funeral FTW!

Yes , The Stone Roses debut album.

The album which made it possible for us Brits not to have to listen to bands like Pearl Jam & Bush for the next decade.

sleepy jack 05-23-2007 05:43 PM

Arcade Fire and Tom Waits win!
