Best Debut Album: Round 1: Poll now I know my ABCS next time wont you sing with me.

Okay final poll, the polls will start up again in August since i'll be taking a three week vacation in midjuly, but i'll throw up some fun ones before I leave that won't be as lengthy, this poll will stay open for five days. The top two bands go on to round 2.

I pick the Mars Volta.

Deeeeeeeeee - Looooooooouuuuuuussssssseddddddddd!!!!

Tough one. Piper is one of the finest psychedelic rock albums, up there with Forever Changes and Surrealistic Pillow. But De-Loused is such an innovative work as well, certainly one of the best albums of this decade so far. Monster Movie is quite a strong debut as well.

De-Loused.

Frances 07-05-2007 08:09 PM

I don't think de-loused will win overall, but for me, it's easily the best debut for the last 15 years. :afro: :afro:

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 07-05-2007 08:13 PM

NINTEEN-O-FIVE, VOICE.

If it is not a winner I might die.

MHDTV 07-05-2007 08:59 PM

No love for Piper? :banghead: :nono:

it'd be my second, I'm hoping they both get through.

MHDTV 07-05-2007 09:06 PM

Mars Volta is my second. If Piper was winning by 5 0r 6 then I would have gone with Mars Volta.

joyboyo53 07-05-2007 09:43 PM

i would like to say volta, but that was the first thing they did after relationships of command which i liked even more... and thus i must have to go with pink floyd syd barrett influence.

So you should be. The only song I don't like on that album is Shakermaker but apart from that it is sheer 90's class. Live Forever and Slide Away are two of the greatest songs ever.

Laces Out Dan! 07-06-2007 04:43 PM

omfgz, Deloused...!

adidasss 07-06-2007 05:28 PM

Deloused FTW.:yeah:

Oasis aren't too popular on these boards and I was expecting some flak for my choice.
Sensational debut album. Cigarettes & Alcohol being the pick of the tracks.
Probably their best tune ever IMO.

Urban Hat€monger ? 07-06-2007 06:37 PM

Oasis

Anyone who was around at that time knows why :D

MHDTV 07-06-2007 06:41 PM

What happens with a tie? Do they all move on(The tied ones)?

Laces Out Dan! 07-06-2007 06:52 PM

well the top 2 move on..and if there is a tie..tiebreaking poll.

Inuzuka Skysword 07-06-2007 08:24 PM

The Mars Volta and not only was it good, but IMO it was their best.

PopIsDead 07-06-2007 09:34 PM

I'm voting Pink Floyd followed closely by the Mars Volta.

MHDTV 07-06-2007 10:58 PM

Yes, back in second. Great taste PopIsDead.

Seltzer 07-07-2007 12:22 AM

It's between De-Loused and Monster Movie IMO. I'll go for the latter.

Piss Me Off 07-07-2007 08:34 AM

Oasis anyday with that album

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 07-07-2007 01:38 PM

I hate you all.

MoonlitSunshine 07-08-2007 11:17 AM

Late 80's/90's is my favourite era for music, it annoys me so much I was only born in 1989! I think I was 'aware' of Oasis in the mid 90's anyway despite being only 5 they were that big in the UK!
