Favorite Songs with a Horn section

This thread inspired by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

So what are your favorite songs with a Horn section.

Here's a few of mind of the top of my head

"Get in On" Chase
"Rascal King" Bosstones
"Sir Duke" Stevie Wonder
"Stay Out all Night" Pietasters
"Come Running" Van Morrison

TheBig3 08-09-2007 09:35 PM

Section? As in Trumpet/Sax/Trombone? Or can it just be brass in there?

Son of JayJamJah 08-09-2007 09:36 PM

No rules here, Brass is Brass I suppose. One Trumpet is enough, as long as the horns are clear in the song.

"25 or 6 to 4"--Chicago

That's the only one that really stands out in my mind at the moment, but I'm sure there are a few more that will come to me.

Gloria Estefan had an incredible backing band, The Miami Sound Machine.
Amazing brass section.

Favourites songs off the top of my head are;

'Move On Up' - Curtis Mayfield.
'Dance, Dance, Dance' - The Casualeers.

Jawdropping on many levels.

jackhammer 08-13-2007 02:14 PM

ooo snap-we are listening to The Cure RT! So are you doing STARING AT THE SEA? I'm on MIXED UP.

Sorry to go off topic, and this will become obsolete in a couple of days time!

right-track 08-13-2007 02:19 PM

Yes indeed...Staring at the Sea. :D

Also off topic with reference to the Smiths v. The Cure thread...it's round about now that I reckon the Smiths for the lyrics and the Cure, musically.

TheBig3 08-13-2007 06:23 PM

Superstition-Stevie Wonder

newjuke junkie 08-20-2007 10:33 AM

Any song by Cake fits this criteria for me.
Any artist that incorporates instruments that have been around before the invention of electricity gets my approval.

Graham Clayton 05-02-2008 04:46 AM

"Know Your Product" by the Saints. Punk with a killer horn riff!

Whatsitoosit 05-02-2008 01:29 PM

"Make Me Smile" & "Does anybody really know what time it is" - Chicago

I also dig the horns in "Brown Sugar" - The Stones.

The Dude 05-02-2008 06:27 PM

The Band - Anything from "Rock of Ages"

TheBig3 02-23-2012 07:23 PM

I'm plugging the **** out of this one...

Frownland 02-23-2012 07:52 PM

Tom Waits's Chicago has a fantastic horn bit.

As does essentially every song off of Mr. Bungle's debut album.

The Budokan Disciple 03-07-2012 09:27 PM

The Waterboys - The Whole Of The Moon
Branford Marsalis Quartet - Harlem Blues

blastingas10 03-08-2012 02:30 AM

The band- don't do it

Euronomus 03-08-2012 11:45 AM

Rod Stewart Crazy About Her - Music video - YouTube

Richard Marx - Angelia

Icehouse - Electric Blue

Eddie Money - I Wanna Go Back

Also, "Sunset Grill," by Don Henley, the original of which doesn't seem to be on YouTube.

Honorable mention to "Inside Out," by Phil Collins - it should have been released as a single.

I generally don't like horns, although apparently I like them more than I thought.
