Default Sad But True

Here is the current Billboard Top 10 List

Billboard Singles Charts - Billboard Top 100 Songs - Billboard Top 100 Singles

Pathetic, not one song I could listen to the whole way through. I won't not recommend you spending the $9.90 to try like I did either.

Well lets have a look at the top 10's from 30 years ago back in the 'golden age' of music.....

Quote:
UK ~ Top Singles ~ August 1977

01. Angelo - Brotherhood Of Man
02. I Feel Love - Donna Summer
03. You Got What It Takes - Showaddywaddy
04. Float On - Floaters
05. Ma Baker - Boney M
06. We're All Alone - Rita Coolidge
07. The Crunch - Rah Band
08. It's Your Life - Smokie
09. Easy - Commadores
10. Something Better Change/Straighten Out - Stranglers

USA ~ Top Singles ~ August 1977

01. I Just Want To Be Your Everything - Andy Gibb
02. Best Of My Love - Emotions
03. (Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher & Higher - Rita Coolidge
04. I'm In You - Peter Frampton
05. Easy - Commadores
06. Whatcha Gonna Do - Pablo Cruise
07. Do You Want To Make Love - Peter McCann
08. Just A Song Before I Go - Crosby Stills & Nash
09. Handy Man - James Taylor
10. Don't Stop - Fleetwood Mac
Looks just as terrible to me.
Apart from The Stranglers there's nothing there I would listen to.

@Urban.
I agree.

I think it's safe to say that the majority of chart top 10 lists past and present are mosty filled with crap.

I can't believe Kingston got to number one with that song. There must be a serious vacuum on the mainstream scene right now. But whatever, the boy is 17 and has a number one single, what have you done with your life?....

@ Urban

I won't call 1977 a golden age. Disco was king in America, but still you make a good point. I just can't believe any of those songs have become as popular as they apparently have.
