A lot of their other stuff is fairly different from "Take On Me". I don't like it for that reason but maybe for you it would be the reverse.

The Monks are certainly overrated in this forum. I don't know what everyone is on about, they're just a poor man's Sonics with some clever lyrics here and there.

I haven't seen too many people mention them. Where do you see it?

There's so many who I think are overrated, I don't take critics opinions at face value. Inevitably many will be underrated because they are little known, there is only room in the limelight for so many.

I haven't read much about them here but I am new. I'm not exactly on board with your Sonics comparison but I do agree The Sonics are better and The Monks maybe do get a little more love than the really deserve from certain hipsters. The Monks are cool though.

i always seem to confuse The Monks with either The Monkees or Thelonious Monk's backing band

I prefer The Monks to The Sonics, although both are great!

Rick Ross is underrated. I think he is too easily dismissed by some hip hop fans purely because of his past as a corrections officer, which makes his lyrics of being a 'gangster' a lie... I look at it as he is just a storyteller, and tells his stories very well.

Fair enough. And sheeet, any real gangsta knows those correction officers are often the biggest hustlin' crooks there are.
