Default Should you put music on your website?

Personally I hate music on websites and I often toggle down my speakers when I'm searching so I don't get rudely interrupted by some random horn or ... god forbid... 'the sting' or Scottish bagpipes or even little tinkling piano keys playing nothing at all...

But some websites do have excellent background music... I would like to see a list of the best websites with music.

Hollywood movies tend to have good background music on their websites.

Weird thread, but I'm posting because I have a question; I want to embed music on my blog. Any idea how I do that?

I loathe websites that have crappy MIDI, or whatever they're called, files in the background. These websites tend to have crap animations as well.

I don't visit any websites that do, so I can't really say. But yeah, Midi music is generally annoying.

Don't ever play music on a website unless the user specifically request it. Crucial! I hate myspace because of this and have to browse with speakers off.
