Post vids of recent releases here for discussion.

The only rules for posting is that the song has to have been released in the month the post is made.
Comments on the song, not the vids are welcome.
All posts replies must begin with the positive "Spin It" or the negative "Bin It".

All genres included.

I'll start the ball rolling with this song released earlier this month.
Manchester band Puressence - 'Drop Down To Earth'.

Not the best quality vid, but it's the song that counts.
I like this tune, so it's a "Spin It" from me.
If people don't like it, feel free to say so. After all it's what this thread is about.

jackhammer 09-26-2007 12:24 PM

"Bin It".
The song is tolerable, but hardly original. A bin it from me I think.

djchameleon 09-27-2007 05:51 AM

"Spin It"
I like it.....it kinda reminds me of a Depeche mode song

right-track 09-27-2007 06:49 AM

Feel free to add a new release.
You don't even have to like it, just put it up for a 'spin or bin', so long as it's been released in the past month.

Ian Brown -'Illegal Attacks'

Ian Brown (feat. Sinead O Connor) dipping his toe into politics with this anti war effort...spin it or bin it?

jackhammer 09-27-2007 09:00 AM

I was going to post this one myself. I'm not too au fait with what is released within the past month.
"Bin it"
I like the music, but I find the lyrics far too obvious and heavy handed. I like Ian Brown though.

Son of JayJamJah 09-27-2007 11:37 AM

Bin it for sure

Literal references instead of imagery in protest songs rarely work. It usually sounds as this does like a very childish and insulting effort.

djchameleon 09-28-2007 01:29 AM

"Bin It".

I love the strings in the music but lyrics are too tongue in cheek.

I prefer the lead singer from system of a down's new anti-war protest song. Mostly for the video lol. I have yet to pay attention to the lyrics.

Son of JayJamJah 09-28-2007 10:05 AM

^Thank you for reminding me to go buy that song...

stakeraiser 09-28-2007 11:09 AM

I love the Stone Roses, but that one left me cold. Liked his earlier solo work better

Jack Peñate 'Second Minute Or Hour'

This has been released quite recently. I must say I'm not really a fan of the guy, but I do like this song rather a lot.

jackhammer 10-01-2007 03:46 PM

I really can't make my mind up about that one. I can't imagine playing it at home, but if i heard it out I would tap my foot.
"Spin It"-just!

cardboard adolescent 10-01-2007 04:03 PM

Kind of annoying - bin it.

pretty sweet video

SEF 10-02-2007 12:19 AM

Awesome video...

The song was good except for the ending which was awful.

Spin it.

djchameleon 10-05-2007 01:09 AM

I haven't listened to the two up there but I wanted to post one.

I'll check them out later and comment on them.

q: hmmm...what am I doing wrong that it always shows up white?
a: because you only put the code in the youtube link

right-track 10-05-2007 02:08 PM

@Mouse vid. Catchy tune, but it reminded me of the Housemartins doing the backing track...Bin It.

@Cardboard. Unusual vid and an unusual tune.
And I like unusual...Spin It.

@djchameleon. First time I've heard this, but it sounds like I've heard it a hundred times before...Bin It.

cardboard adolescent 10-05-2007 03:09 PM

I couldn't find a music video for this but this song did get released on album this month, and I really like it so whatever:

This is Thurston Moore with Frozen Gtr, btw.

^ Spin It.

Manic Street Preachers - Indian Summer

Released at the start of this month.

Mr Sensitive 10-06-2007 05:38 AM

Heh, I'll always have a soft spot for the Manics, spin it.

djchameleon 11-09-2007 09:51 AM

this thread can't die....I like it too much
Emilie Autumn - Dead Is The New Alive

I'm not sure how old the song is but I first heard it on the Saw 4 soundtrack that was released recently

Heh, I'm actually from the same area they are from, so they are quite well liked around here.

right-track 11-19-2008 12:33 AM

Renamed and bumped this thread.

I'm surprised Music Banter still doesn't have an ongoing thread reviewing new released singles.

cardboard adolescent 11-19-2008 02:25 AM

I have no idea how old this is but these guys recently put out a new album.

FaSho 11-19-2008 05:36 AM

'Spin It' for sure.

right-track 11-19-2008 03:01 PM

That was really interesting. Love the use of brass in that too.
Know any more about them CA?

right-track 11-19-2008 03:13 PM

The Killers currently charted single 'Human', has been out for a while now and I still don't know what to really make of it.
The first time I heard it...I hated it. Now I'm not so sure.

Spin, or bin?

FaSho 11-19-2008 03:33 PM

Bin it. Can't stand that one.
