Not on the laptop, I do on my desktop but sadly I live at home and I'm trapped in my room after lights out. Check out their myspace(excuse my laziness to hyperlink anything) and if you like it let me know and I can get a few albums up tomorrow. I'm not even sure how to describe their sound....its like a gypsy-ish, punk-ish, folk-ish sort of thing with an array of out-of-the-ordinary instruments(like a theramin! woot woot!).

Son of JayJamJah 09-27-2007 11:28 PM

I'll do the myspace thing and if I like it buy an album or two of I-Tunes if they are on there, if not then yes please upload and or tell me where to find a CD.

I know it's probably and unpopular opinion but I bet someone will say The Rolling Stones.

I just can't get into the Rolling Stones. Sure they have a good song here or there but come on now.

sleepy jack 09-28-2007 03:26 AM

lol What's wrong with Patrick Wolf?

Everybody should be allowed to dislike the Rolling Stones if they want to. Thinking they are really great nowadays is similar to laughing at a Shakespearian joke, it shows you're out of touch.

If you don't like Marvin ***e, Santana or Miles Davis you should be shot. Don't have to love them, but failing to like them means there's something wrong with you.

Son of JayJamJah 09-28-2007 09:57 AM

If you're white you don't need to like Miles Davis, after all that means he hated you.

stakeraiser 09-28-2007 11:10 AM

People think I'm crazy because I can't stand Pink Floyd, but oh well

No, I don't. I just hate this "You don't like this band? Oh your taste must suck" bull****.

**** this thread, and **** you for making it. As if there aren't enough douchebags trying to tell each other what ****ing band deserves to be in the top ten, or which is the "most influential", or whatever similar ****.

You should take a trip into the emo forum and look at the actual elitists. Starving likes Saetia, which is ballsy as hell for an emo kid and disproves your statement.

Son of JayJamJah 09-28-2007 06:21 PM

I won't be taking any trips into the emo forum anytime soon, and my statement does not need to be disproved thank you very much, it's extremely unfounded on it's own merits.

ProggyMan 09-28-2007 07:30 PM

I don't get why people always have to say " Stop arguing about how good music is!"
We do it because we enjoy it, not because we're trying to actually change people's tastes.

SEF 09-29-2007 12:01 AM

I can't stand The Who and only like The Doors debut.

holdyoualways 09-29-2007 01:30 AM

every single band mentioned in this thread
+ the clash, the ramones, the sex pistols, etc...

sleepy jack 09-29-2007 12:56 PM

Lol Killed for not liking the Sex Pistols what?

holdyoualways 09-29-2007 01:56 PM

i dunno, they seem to be one of those cult you-must-like-them-to-be-cool bands

ElsieNatasha53189 05-05-2018 06:25 AM

Elvis Costello is my favorite musician and I don't trust anyone who doesn't like him.

MicShazam 05-05-2018 06:33 AM

I don't like him.

Frownland 05-05-2018 06:52 AM

The Sane Psycho 05-05-2018 06:55 AM

Weezer. Wait, a lot of people don't like Weezer on this forum. Oh well, I love 'em, even if not all their albums are great.

MicShazam 05-05-2018 06:57 AM

Kate Bush
Motörhead
Flavia Coelho

Black Francis 05-05-2018 09:47 AM

That chord progression is as old as dirt and has been used millions of times dating back to early classical music. Hmmmmm, wonder where Taurus got it from......

Frownland 05-05-2018 01:15 PM

What's worse: stealing songs or being cliched enough to have to argue that you're not stealing others' music?

MicShazam 05-05-2018 01:17 PM

Nothing wrong with a good cliché.

To further my point, is everyone who's ever used a 12 bar I-IV-V blues progression a thief?

And to imply that Stairway is a stolen song simply because Page used a traditional A-Ab-G-Gb-F-A chord progression for the intro is beyond stupid.

The brilliance of how he used the progression was adding the counterpoint melodies.

A/A-Ab/B-G/C-Gb/Gb-F/E-A/A.

And considering this progression accounts for about 5% of the total song......

Always on the defensive. Hawk called you out so badly it must have made you bleed, and you still haven't recovered. Your balls still hurting?

Hawk, I finally sorted out all of my gear in the Winny and will be posting the track soon.

To answer the question: Aerosmith

Talking 70s here. Been listening to Rocks and it's brilliant. Perfect blend of Stones, The Who, and Zeppelin.

Frownland 05-05-2018 03:09 PM

Put your dick away please.

Just saying that if you're going to say that Zeppelin didn't steal any songs because they were just touching on a very common musical idea, then you're just arguing that Zeppelin feeds into cliches. Not inherently a bad thing (though it usually is), just an element of this discussion.

Mondo Bungle 05-05-2018 03:11 PM

Aerosmith have put out a handful of the greatest rock songs there are

inb4 someone doesn't listen and says it's not badass

Just posted about this band and album in the "Which Band Sucks" thread. Great minds think alike!

it will never not be one of my favorite albums of the 70s

He's all right but he's no Elvis Costello.

On another note: once again a thread (this time, a necrobumped one from, what eleven years ago?) becomes the latest battleground for Frownageddon, Chula v Frown: this time (like every time) it's personal!

Please refrain from using the Rolling Stones and The Who in the same sentence. Cause The Who is such an inferior ****ty band.

However I will allow you to mention the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin together. Cause the Stones are so far superior to them. In a way it's kinda cute cause it's like Led Zep tagging on their coat-tails.
