Weezer. Wait, a lot of people don't like Weezer on this forum. Oh well, I love 'em, even if not all their albums are great.

So do you have to partially kill yourself by taking up smoking or something along those lines?

That chord progression is as old as dirt and has been used millions of times dating back to early classical music. Hmmmmm, wonder where Taurus got it from......

What's worse: stealing songs or being cliched enough to have to argue that you're not stealing others' music?

Nothing wrong with a good cliché.

To further my point, is everyone who's ever used a 12 bar I-IV-V blues progression a thief?

And to imply that Stairway is a stolen song simply because Page used a traditional A-Ab-G-Gb-F-A chord progression for the intro is beyond stupid.

The brilliance of how he used the progression was adding the counterpoint melodies.

A/A-Ab/B-G/C-Gb/Gb-F/E-A/A.

And considering this progression accounts for about 5% of the total song......
