I thought this might be fun.

There are some bands where, talented or not, everyones putting for an equal amount of effort. And then sometimes its a one man show with an entourage that just happens to get a pay check.

Discuss the band members out there who claim to fame is being in a band with someone who has actual talent.

Heres two for the Bass portion:

Micheal Anthony: Anyone who plays in a stadium should play a few more notes than those that show up in "Running with the Devil" (van halen)

Kris Noveselik (sp?): I'm sure you're fine man, but the other two own your face. (nirvana)

Add Ringo Starr! I thought Charlie Watts drumming was held in high regard in jazz circles? I know his style for the Stones is flat, but I heard that he could really kick ass when he let go?

Yeah he has toured with a few jazz musicians & has released a few albums with his own jazz band , i've never heard any of them though.

At least with Ringo they let him write & sing occasionally , I don't think Watts has ever contributed to songwriting in the 40+ years he's been in the band.

Which is a bit of a shame if he really is that highly thought of.

That fucking song makes me see red and want to cut Ringo to ribbons with a broken beer bottle, however I'm not sure I can argue with you

A thread I created got posted in beyond the day it was created. Sin away friends, hell froze over.

I'm thinking the guys other than Brad Noell in sublime? I mean nevermind talent, that band quit forever ago and they still make insane amounts of money off whatever that band can put their name on. Best retirement plan going.
