Funeral Vs. Slanted and Enchanted

pick

ProggyMan 10-14-2007 04:55 PM

Funeral. I just dislike Pavement. I have no reasoning.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 10-14-2007 05:06 PM

funeral, because I used to like them and neighbourhood #3 is still a cool song.

=ladyface= 10-14-2007 05:15 PM

Funeral. Pavement never really did anything for me.

The Dave 10-14-2007 06:45 PM

=ladyface= 10-15-2007 11:03 AM

I've only just realised why we're doing this... they tied in that other poll.

MoonlitSunshine 10-15-2007 11:04 AM

Just kidding :p:

Kevorkian Logic 10-16-2007 03:39 PM

S&E

definitely

Funeral isn't bad but it's gets BLAND easy.

The Dave 10-16-2007 05:17 PM

I'm glad someone else has seen the light :).

sleepy jack 10-17-2007 03:08 PM

Cause Pavement is ever so unique...

The Dave 10-17-2007 04:05 PM

I haven't heard too many bands, that came out before them that they sound like, then again, I could just not have heard said bands. Still, it's personal favorite albums, I'm just having a bit of fun with it.

...while Arcade Fire is groundbreaking stuff?

sleepy jack 10-17-2007 04:26 PM

Yeah cause that's what I said.

Kevorkian Logic 10-17-2007 04:36 PM

hmm, I disagree, but I don't think i'm going to get anywhere arguing with you, but I shall try. I have only been able to find one way I could explain the poplularity of this album:

People trust critics far too much, especially the Pitchfork ones, and for some reason every lame Indie critic masturbates to this album. I mean I guess if you listen to radio crap all the time this album is truly groundbreaking, but if you have an idea of all the great music out there, this album is hardly noteworthy.

let me clarify as well, I do enjoy Pavement, they however are not the most unique band that has come around, but they are better than the Arcade Fire.

and tell me, who said Pavement were "ever so unique"?

let me clarify...they're not particularly unique - they just don't get boring as quickly as the Arcade Fire do. It's not too hard to understand what I'm saying, so let's not pull quotes from our asses :)

sleepy jack 10-17-2007 05:09 PM

Who said the Arcade Fire were unique? I've yet to tire of Funeral, Pavement has never interested me.

The Dave 10-17-2007 05:24 PM

^Opposite for me, I got bored with Neon Bible fairly quick, Funerals I still listen to every now and then. But Pavement is a constant, steadfast, lover :).

GravitySlips 10-17-2007 05:29 PM

nodoby said either band was unique, yet you still felt the need to bring it up.

i'm not going to say anything against Funeral because it's not a bad album, I just prefer Pavement who I find much more quirky and interesting - especilly on Slanted and Enchanted. You obviously disagree, so to each their own.

sleepy jack 10-19-2007 10:56 PM

Funeral wins, you can view the results here: http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...on-thread.html
