Fall Out Boy vs.Foo Fighters

My roommate and I got into an argument this evening about these two bands. The question was who is more popular out of the two, not based on talent or anything else, just, who is more popular today. I told him that any teenager today has most likely heard of fall out boy. This may not be the case with the Foo Fighters. I have a personal opinion on these two bands but that is not what I'm going off of. Just popularity. What do you guys think?

Wayfarer 11-15-2007 03:19 PM

Fall Out Boy are more popular.

The Dave 11-15-2007 04:34 PM

FOB are as popular as this thread is worthless.

holdyoualways 11-15-2007 04:44 PM

yeah thats kind of an obvious answer...

jackhammer 11-15-2007 06:44 PM

A worthless thread that does'nt contribute anything other than what we all know.

Zer0 11-16-2007 02:07 AM

In my part of the world Foos are most popular and damn right deserve to be. And how the fudge can you compare Foo Fighters with ****ty Fall Out Boy???

stakeraiser 11-16-2007 09:51 AM

I shall ignore the whole premise of this thread and go off on one about dave grohl.

Dave Grohl is the most infuriating man in music in my opinion. The guy has a seemingly encyclopedic knowledge of hardcore , punk rock & 80s independent music , he always seems to come across as a nice down to earth kind of guy. And he does have talent even if you were never much a fan of Nirvana (like me) you just have to listen to QOTSA's Songs For The Death to see the kind of thing he is capable of.
Yet despite all that

He STILL insists on writing the most radio friendly boring middle of the road music for people who have no interest in music and just buy whatever they hear on TV or Radio.

Dave , mate , I want to like you but f*ck me you make it difficult.

Agreed. And it's even more annoying because there's a handful of old FF songs I actually like even if I don't really listen to them, but their last double album was one of the blandest things I've ever heard.

It's Songs for the Deaf btw.

Urban Hat€monger ? 11-16-2007 04:07 PM

I knew that :o:

Dr_Rez 11-16-2007 06:29 PM

Yea dude, Foo's and FOB should not be in the same thread ever. And i think Foo's are because they reach to a much wider age group and have been around much longer. (been popular much longer, ever since first album after nirvana broke up)

hescalante 11-16-2007 06:57 PM

I'm new... and this is not the kind of thread that I was expecting to find on a board like this one... I don't mean to be rude though... I just thought that the there was no point at all.

Sometimes I don't know why I ask questions via internet. Thank you all for such compelling answers.

Lucy 11-16-2007 10:47 PM

Foo Fighters for sure.
Seriously, FOB sound the same...every song.

The end.

I couldn't agree anymore with you. The last thing I enjoyed from Dave Grohl was probably Probot. That was an awesome collaboration.

This is like the other pointless thread, Nickleback v. Puddle of Mudd. It's somehow going to get dragged on for 8 pages until one of the mods gets so fed up with it and locks it.

The Dave 11-18-2007 09:03 PM

^1/4 of the there already.
