American Idol

Week Of Nov. 26, 2007: Idol Schmidol - Jordin Not Setting Off Sparks - Chart Watch

so according to that, Jordin Sparks, American Idol's newest winner, is bombing in the charts compared to all the other idol winners before her.

isnt this a sign to the folks at Fox that its over?
really, the best talent has been found and you've exploited the worst singers.
It's not funny anymore. Personally, after the 3rd season, i thought it was old. But now we're going on number 9. Like really people, its over.

It's not over it's just a cycle.

There were shitloads of talent shows like this in the 70s & 80s , then people got bored of them & switched off in their millions and so they were all dropped.

15/20 years later they're back again & everybody thinks they're amazing. They've been running shows like this for the past 7 or 8 years & now people are getting bored of them again.

They'll be back

We all know they are over. Making a thread about it is pointless. Anyone who knows their schizz doesn't watch it so it makes this thread redundant.

i just thought it was interesting that its starting to suck and i was wondering why we think theyre still making another season..

sheesh!

jackhammer 11-28-2007 08:12 PM

It has sucked from the start both in U.K and U.S.A. If people have enough talent then they should get out into the clubs and show their potential. I'm not having a go honestly! I just hate these shows!

Urban Hat€monger ? 11-28-2007 08:13 PM

I hate talent shows for one reason & it's not even musical

well you cant deny that people like kelly clarkson have amazing voices and they wouldnt havve gotten where they are today without it.
buttt

jackhammer 11-28-2007 08:19 PM

They should have had more conviction in their voices originally and worked in the clubs honing their voices. There are 10 female artists out there I could name with more talent and better voices who will never get the success they deserve.

Urban Hat€monger ? 11-28-2007 08:19 PM

Loads of people have great voices.

It's what you do with them that counts & singing Simon Cowell's hits of the 80s & 90s like a karaoke machine doesn't really impress me.

katiexdollface 11-28-2007 08:21 PM

gettting famous isnt about talent.
its about luck & who you know.

To be fair i'd rather hear Kelly Clarkson or Ruben Studdard, people who can actually sing, over all the lip syncing studio produced trash like Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson.

American Idol was always trash to me. They turn away good singers to place people on tv that have a gimmick or looks a certain type to get better ratings....every once in a blue moon they'll actually let one or two people in at all the different cities that are actually good singers. They aren't looking for singers but for certain personalities.

I've always hated that show. All the winners of the show are terribly unsuccessful when they release their albums with the exception of two, Kelly and Carrie that's about it. I also don't like how they force people to sign a contract with Simon's production company when they get down to the top 8. Whether you like it or not, you are stuck in the contract for the duration of it.

It seems like Clive Davis' hit machine isn't working too well because the winners that he's producing are having lackluster albums compared to the runner ups and other people in the top 8 that get deals with other labels but somewhere in that contract still probably owe some royalties to Simon.
