While it's far from being an amazing album or making it on my top 50 any time soon, I felt it was a vast improvement over their previous album. It's a solid piece whereas their debut was kinda all over the place and couldn't really find a comfortable zone. Looking forward to seeing where they go from this album, as another album too much like this would probably be the beginning of a dead horse.

I've been listening to Rain Dogs like crazy lately.

I'm a Tom Waits fan to begin with, but for some reason, I've just been putting that album on repeat like mad the last couple of days.

This is a fun one to sing to though it's not poppy but it is simple. One of the few albums I listen to for the lyrics.

This is the band everyone should name drop when there is a what's emo discussion.

DEATH PROOF O.S.T

No matter what I think about the film, the soundtrack is excellent and this is one of the best retro tunes I have heard for a long time:

ELECTRIC ORANGE-MORBUS

I have already started a thread on these German retro psychedelic cosmic rockers. Love Krautrock? Get it!

YEAH YEAH YEAHS-SHOW YOUR BONES

I am a latecomer to this album and it is definitely my loss. Just good upbeat tunes that restore your faith in great simple tunes.

GREGORY ISAACS-REVENGE

The rocksteady Reggae king keeps banging out quality releases.

best Macca album since :

...and 80's Genesis. I'm recovering from a month of musique concrete and 'a man slapping concrete with his **** for half an hour accompanied by improvised bagpipes is music too' thing. 'Abacab' is so good. thinking is hard
