Yes doooood! I'm obsessed with that album and have listened to it more than 25 times since I got it. 'This Time, This Year' is probably my favorite track right now. Such a poetically beautiful song.

I also downloaded The Great Depression and don't like it nearly as much. I don't know much about this band but what's with the female singer in the latter album?

Louis Armstrong & Duke Ellington - The Complete Sessions

I've been out and about working on various stuff, looking at flats and playing football all day. This is the perfect album to wind down after all that to. Jazz is something I've only recently started properly getting into, and stuff like this makes me wonder why on earth I didn't think of doing so earlier.

I have been really into Portugal the Man's new album American Ghetto, this is a band that has reinvented itself numerous times over the past few years and still never fails to amaze me as they put out at least one album a year, if you have not heard of them and are into soul, rock and roll, or indie, I would definitely give this album a listen.

I just gave Diamond District "In the Ruff" it's fourth spin, and its status has elevated massively.

Diamond District is a group out of the District of Columbia, with members Oddisee, X.O., and yU. "In the Ruff" (2009) was D.D.'s debut release. Production is tight. MCs bring it and are, for the most part, consistent start to finish. It's got this catchy, smooth piano riff that plays at multiple parts of the album... Really ties it together nicely. Under 70k last.fm plays to date tells me that a lot of folks haven't had the opportunity to listen to this album. Don't sleep on them; With another drop anticipated for 2010, you don't want to wait and have some catching up to do...

I remember listening to this a couple of times and thinking meh. But recently I've been really getting into it, feel good catchy music combined with a sweet voice.

not been able to stop listening to it lately, no idea where it's come from. I'm gonna have to give Volume 2 a listen.

Midnight Oil - Blue Sky Mining

Midnight Oil - Earth and Sun and Moon

Been a while since I last got a load of Oils, and I'm just remembering why they're one of my top 8 on LastFM. Love or hate Peter Garrett's vocal style, you've gotta admit there's character and edge by the bucketload to the whole sound (which is basically all I keep an ear peeled for in any music I listen to).
