Davids Lyre - Picture of Our Youth

I've been looking forward to this album for a couple of years now and it was well worth the wait.

an acoustic version of the lead track

It's actually not out yet but is up for streaming here I've listened to it 3 time through just this morning.
Sadly this project is over after this album, he was dropped by his label and decided to just start a different project but I'm sure whatever he does will be just as excellent.

First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roar (2012)

It's very reminiscent of another female fronted folky/ singer songwriter act I'm quite fond of, Rykarda Parasol. Even the vocal harmonies of Joanna and Klara Söderberg carry the same heart wrenching sound that Rykarda Parasol's voice emulates. I like that the instrumentation is varied enough so it doesn't get boring, and I really do like the country influences featured in the album. That being said though, I really wish there was some banjo, that would have really spiced it up. Overall, January has proven to be quite a good month for folk music, hopefully the coming month will continue this trend, as well as throw out albums from other genres I'm fond of.

I swear, it's like this album was made for me! de futura is quite possibly one of the greatest things I've ever heard.

"Burial - Burial" is still one of the best albums ever for me. Perfect for relaxing and long walks.

This is so beyond sick. beats are amazing, rapping is amazing, and Kid Koala's scratching is pretty subtle, but so dope. LOVE THIS.

Devo will always be superior to The B-52's. Though B-52's first album is amazing.
