I agree it's good but now that I've absorbed it a little more, I find myself wanting to listen to some St. Vincent or Talking Heads by the end of it. I think that was inevitable, though, so it that's not necessarily a bad thing.

The Stone Roses - The Very Best of The Stone Roses

Pretty close to what I would consider my own "Very Best", so that's all good with me. Must have listened to this album over 100 times.

Been meaning to get this ever since I first saw Pump Up The Volume and heard Everybody Knows in the early 90s (Concrete Blonde did an awful cover of it that doesn't even feature in the movie on the soundtrack album but thankfully that album has Hank Rollins & Bad Brains covering Kick Out The Jams and the Pixies doing the slow version of Wave Of Mutilation to make up for it.)

Good album but it suffers from that awful trap of artists from the 60s & 70s having horribly produced albums during the 80s.

Starflyer 59 - Silver (1993)
For some reason I had put off listening to these guys for some time, probably due to the 'christian' tag associated with them *shudder*, but much to my relief this is a damn good album. They have a sound very reminiscent of Siamese Dream-era Pumpkins only leaning more toward shoegaze. It can be quite dense and heavy at times yet still have melodic and introspective sensibilities. Will investigate these guys further.

Glad to hear you like them...their music is more timeless than people give them credit for. I'm gonna go pop on Speaking In Tongues.

Dio, Holy Diver. I heard my brother listening to Dio last week and it got me in the mood for this classic album. Good timing, too, it is such a perfect album for Halloween. I haven't listened to it in over a year, it's good to hear that dangerously sweet howl of Dio's.

Alice Cooper, Theatre Of Death: Live At Hammersmith 2009. This is an excellent live album from the great Coop. Has songs from all his eras, made heavier since the old man likes to stay hip with the kids. It's ridiculously fun, raucously hilarious, and shows that he kicks more ass than most whippersnappers half (or a fourth) his age.

Haha - I am the same. The Christian association put me off big time. Still haven't listened to them to this day.
