Fantastic feel good-stoner band, they use some synth work for galactical cosmic sounds and I've been really into that lately. Down for suggestions.

35007
Gomer Pyle
Galaktica
Hawkwind (of course! try Choose your masques or church of hawkwind)
Sula Bassana
The Mystick Krewe of Clearlight

and I will give that album a listen. Sounds decent.

The Rails Fair Warning

Debut album from the UK folk duo that consists of Kami Thompson (daughter of Richard & Linda Thompson) and her husband James Walbourne. Produced by Edwyn Collins, RIYL traditional Brit folk with a modern twist.

Ellis Island Sound Regions

Latest album from the duo of Peter Astor and David Sheppard. The music is a mix of Krautrock, electronic and Afro-beat. Mostly instrumental with funky rhythms and slinky beats- it holds up together remarkably well throughout.

Both sound worth a listen. On my list. Give Melt Yourself Down a listen regarding the last album. Has a similar sound (on paper).

What album would you recommend by each?

I checked out Sons of Otis and it was much more stoner/Sludge than I expected so my recos may be a little light musically for you. However:

35007 - Liquid
Gomer Pyle - Idiots Savants
Galacticka - Apocalypse Physedelicka
Sula Bassana - The Night

Also try Weedeater - Good Luck and God Speed

I have that and you're right, it has a similar sound. Melt Yourself Down may lean a bit more towards a punk vibe than Ellis Island Sound but both are a great melting pot of a variety of genres.

I have to openly thank Bob for this again but Survival Knife's Loose Power might be the best thing I've heard all year. Even pitchfork likes it . New Joyce Manor is coming out soon though.

Look at that album cover.

seriously man anytime....i probably make a bit more money than you and have no problem buying music for anyone....esp when its at such a great show and i know all you (and i) wanted to do was devour this album :)

yeah this album really has some staying power.....just enough to sound like a lost Unwound album with just enough difference to really make it something fresh

The Isley Brothers - The Brothers: Isley (1969)

Another solid soul/funk album from The Isley Brothers from 1969. Featuring the Billboard Top 40 pop hit, "I Turned You On." Enjoyable listening from start to finish.
