I wish I'd ever listened to a full Bon Iver album so I could agree, but I haven't and it's been years since I even tried cause nothing made me care.

Who's bon iver? Before you answer that question, should I care?

this is the first time i've listened to a project spearheaded by Colin Stetson, despite being familiar with a lot of his work with other groups. i was hesitant because i thought i would be disappointed just because of how hyped up he is around here, but nah, this totally kicks ass.

sarah neufeld is pretty rad as well.

I was going to rec it to you in your review thread but ended up assuming it's not mainstream enough for you.
Sure showed me.

you get way more hipster cred for liking the non-mainstream stuff.

i almost listened to it when it came out becahse anthony fantano reviewed it but i was just starting to get my bearings with both jazz and experimental music so after watching the review i decided not to bother.

I've heard that one a few times.

Xmal Deutschland - Tocsin (1984)

I was looking at the Big Four for Gothic Rock thread and saw this band mentioned a few times. I'm not going to lie, I don't know the deeper cuts of the genre, so I decided to check this out, and while I don't speak foreign, I'm still enjoying it. It's got a very layered and complex atmosphere under a fairly simple presentation.

All great picks. I feel like Suishou No Fune don't get enough credit for being so ridiculously great because they weren't a first generation Japanoise group.
