Elvis Costello - Live@the Manchester Apollo, '87

Probably my favourite bootleg ever this. Great renditions that, in some cases, improve on the studio versions, great setlist, great atmosphere - I tried uploading for my journal before but I've only got it in wav, which of course means the uploaded file ends up being about a gigabyte in size. Pity.

Still not upgraded from iTunes then yet? :rolleyes: Lol.

What's the setlist like?

Casual Projects

Self titled from a brilliant live aussie hip hop crew. Courtesy of Loathsome Pete. The style is mostly dense funk rock, with a whole bunch of other elements thrown in on top as is hip hop's style, the choruses are surprisingly hooky. Haven't had time to let it sink in lyrically but I know I will be spending a lot of time with this in the future - haven't been this excited about a new album for a while.

It's still all about the Fauves for me... namely their 2008 album, When Good Things Go Good... still love it in all of its tuneful, guitar pop hooky goodness, with a dash of added humour to offset the melancholy

I never realized how incredible the bass is on this album, among other things. It's a lot more rock and roll than usual.

I was really surprised at how much I liked this album. Everything was so jazzy and soulful, mixed with her beautiful voice, it's a new favorite.

Out of everything that's come out recently, nothing has matched the way I feel about this album.

^I love that girls album. Definetly in my top 10 of 2009.

Nah :D I've downloaded tunebite (thanks to Sam's suggestion), which can bypass DPM or whatever it's called format protection, I just haven't bothered installing it.

The setlist's pretty awesome - ridiculously long and a good mix of the hits, album tracks and obscure covers to keep any level of fan satisfied.

As for what I'm digging now;

Ella Fitzgerald - Lullabies Of Birdland

More 50s vocal jazz, as per the kind of kick I've been on this last week or two. Just getting through the first listen now and, needless to say, I'm not disappointed.

Sparklehorse - It's a Wonderful Life

I am LOVING this album right now. His quietly tortured voice reminds me a lot of Elliott Smith, as does the music (only with much more complex instrumentation...Elliott Smith's problem was that he did much better when it was just him and an acoustic guitar). This is a winner, I only wish I had heard of him earlier.

Really heavy noise rock with a crazy singer. Awesome.
