Hmm.. its hard to say. Blue Notebooks was more emotive and sounded like it was made for a CD. This was used as background music for a ballet so it doesn't sound very interpersonal. Not that that's a bad thing, just that it sets them apart. But when all is said and done I think I like this one slightly more.

EDIT: On another blogspot someone says it's for a documentary? Well, at any rate, it wasn't made to be an outright CD. But it is now, and it's fantastic.

Ahhh ok, I think I loved Blue Notebooks because it was so emotive but I'll definitely check this out then.

After listening to it twice I've decided it's just as emotive as Blue Notebooks but quite dark. I now adore this CD. It's unbelievable. You need it

All 5 albums by the National, I don't think they'll let me post 5 pictures, so I'll just settle with this:

The National
Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers
Alligator
Boxer
High Violet

One of my favorite bands at the moment, love the lyrics, love Matt Berninger's voice, it's such a nice baritone.

not all that original or special, but still, a pretty good collection of solid rock tunes

Chris Murray Combo - Why So Rude?
Amazing contemporary ska/rocksteady from a stripped down 3 piece combo drums/upright bass/ acoustic guitar. Songs are catchy as all hell. Vocal harmonies are incredible. If you love 1st wave Jamaican ska & rocksteady you'll love Chris Murray's inventive twist on the genre.

Well this is certainly a piece of badassery. I love the perfectly nonchalant "I'll drug you and **** you on the permafrost"

Back when Rod Stewart rocked... what the hell happened? Solid album anyway

This album is tops, from start to end. The intro to I Love the World amuses me... it almost sounds like they're going to break out into a power metal chorus around the 1m mark... thankfully they don't
