Our Broken Garden - Golden Sea

Our Broken Garden is the solo project of the Danish singer-songwriter artist Anna Brønsted. She is also a member of Efterklang´s live set-up and Efterklang is pretty amazing.
This is nice and atmospheric with some really great female vocals and sad downbeat melodies.

this is great, thanks! let me know if you can think of similar sounds from that part of the world, stuff like Fluke, Blue Foundation, Husky Rescue...

Mos Def- Black On Both Sides

http://respecta.net/uploads/posts/20...-are-black.jpg

I got the Mos Def album for Christmas, and after listening decided to revisit BlackStar as well. Both great, great albums but I think I may prefer Mos's solo stuff somewhat. I find a lot of his rapping to be personal and it seems to come out better on Black On Both Sides, at least to me. BlackStar's still really good of course and I think I'll be checking out some of Talib Kweli's solo material soon.

Normally when people are in a bad mood, they put on heart-wrenchingly sad music, or a poppy little feel-good tune, but I put on the kind of music that shatters eardrums like sugar glass. I recovered this from the depths of my music folder and I have one thing to say: So loud it's empowering.

it's a great album that I'm happy to revisit.

That's is a really, really good album. Have you ever heard the sax player's other band, Psychofagist? Also very good stuff and very much "bad mood music".

ha, that's fantastic!

If you like Zu and Psychofagist, you might be familiar with the noise-jazz/avant-jazz/ band Zs. It's a little less angry sounding but it's still amazing.

If you haven't heard of them, you should check out their latest album New Slaves.

I've never heard of them before, but I'll definitely check them out now!

This album makes me want to scream out in agony in the best way imaginable, there is so much emotion and so much passion, it's absolutely heart-wrenching and beautiful. One of my favorites of the year for sure.
