I've been working my way through Dylan's Tell-Tale Signs.

"Born in Time" is pretty extraordinary.

Glad I got the three-disc editon.

Einsturzende Neubauten - Zeichnungen des Patienten O. T. (1983)

The roots of industrial music are weird. Very weird.

Scraping Foetus off the Wheel - Nail (1985)

More industrial roots, albeit significantly more accessible.

Glenn Branca - The Ascension (1981)

Sweet avant-garde album.

Comus - First Utterance (1971)

I should have listened to this ages ago.

I've still never heard anything like it.

"Psych-folk" is a strange genre indeed. I don't think I've ever heard anything quite like it either.

I honestly think that Reed never did anything after VU/Nico that's worth classic status. WL/WH has its moments, but the other VU albums are dreadful, and his solo stuff is amazingly lackluster (notable exception: The Day John Kennedy Died).

Oh man, you really need to hear the original Born In Time outtake. They completely raped and butchered that track for Tell Tale Signs. Not only did they bring the guitar up way too high, they edited the vocal from different takes and left out the best lines!

I need to give my namesake a spin soon, it's been too long.

A few (well, four, considering the image-posting restrictions here) of my most listened-to albums of the last week;

Elvis Costello & the Confederates - King Of America
Bugger the pretentious implications of the title and the sleeve cover, I've been listening to this album for the first time in an age or two. I'd swear by this album when I was 18 - I just love the laid back, friendly, blues and folk vibes about it.

Ska Cubano - Ska Cubano
Downloaded this today, and it's fast becoming a favourite. Very interesting blend of rhythms going on with this one. I've been meaning to get into some more ska for a while now, so getting hold of this wasn't exactly a bad idea.

The Teardrop Explodes - Kilimanjaro
A band my brother's been trying to get me to listen for years now, and it's safe to say he's finally succeeded. Great album, how the bloody hell did I manage to overlook this lot?

Frank Zappa - Jazz From Hell
Remarkable stuff (put simply).

I'm glad you are liking Ska Cubano. Such an upbeat album.
