halfway through this and every song so far is stellar. idk about the rest of the album, but if it's as good as the first half then i'm looking at one of my top hip-hop cds

Jimi Hendrix - Live At Berkley (1970)

Need I say any more? The great man himself, although he is not my favourite guitarist, only coming in at about number 6, hearing him live is a treat.

there is a thriving scene of tape labels surprisingly! If you sift through the hipster dross (lovingly packaged bootleg of James Horner's 'Commando' soundtrack... ok i'll admit i kind of want that) there is some legitimately exciting music to be found

Yep, in fact I hadn't heard of Hypnagogic Pop before but Ducktails and Zola Jesus both great so I may have to look into that. I don't like the term post noise though, I hope that doesn't become a genre name. Noise music is exactly what the term says, and I feel like there's no way to turn that into some sort of different music without completely changing the term. Stupid genres...

Anyways:

iji - Soup and Salad - First side reminds me a lot of Pavement with some softer songs, and side 2 is more experimental and hilarious.

Lamb - Fear of FoursJust got this gem this morning (my parents randomly got it for me) and got on here while listening to it, on the second play now. Seems to combine the darker jazzier elements of Mezzanine with the more playful feel (not sure if that's really the right term...) of a Telepopmusik album. I fucking love it.

The first 6 six songs are sheer pop bliss perfection. "She Comes in Colors" is about having sex with a women during her period. Yipee! The last 19-min. song is like a soundtrack to a Rodger Corman psychedelic bikini beach freak-out B-Movie...it's also quinessential 60's stoner music.

Wilco "Kicking Television: Live in Chicago"
One of my favorite live albums of all time, the presence of Nels Cline in the band is a major addition. He brings a new take on all the classic Wilco songs post-alt-country.
Favorite Songs: Nearly all of them.

Come With Us - The Chemical Brothers...

Very much digging this little bit of my listening past, the sounds of Star Guitar are actually as beautiful as I remembered them.... the other stuff, I dunno seems even better after a few years of not hearing this album...

I think I confused this with some other album from last year, because I was not expecting something so sunny. But still, the songs are lovely.
