Circa Survive - Of Letting Go

IMO a lot better than Juturna, which I loved too. Had two of my favourite songs of year on it. Semi Constructive Criticism & Kicking Your Crosses Down. There was a lot more diversity in this album than Juturna and I hope that they continue to progress because Anthony Green is sex to the ears.

The Fall of Troy - Manipulator

A completely different album than the previous two. Contains the two only songs they've released without screaming in "Caught Up" and "Oh! The Casino!?". Thom's vox have been getting better and better as the years go by and on the later tours promoting Manipulator, he really is sounding amazing. This album has seems to go across the board genre wise, incorporating poppy elements in songs like "Cut Down All The Trees And Name The Streets After Them" and "Oh!, The Casino!?" to being thrashy in Sledgehammer and ExCreations. This album also showed a more progressive side in A.Man.A.Plan.A.Canal.Panama. All in all, my favourite album of the year.

Red Museum - Greenlake Demo

Only recently got into this band. Has members of Thomas' old freshman year of high school band "Tribune". Has sort of a TFOT feel. And I chose this Demo because it was 100x better than the album the released previously. This band is really going places, and I cant wait to here more from them.

The Number Twelve Looks Like You - Mongrel

Only very very recently got into this band. And this album has some really amazing songs. The musicianship is great in the songs Grandfather and Jay Walking Backwards particularly. This band gets a bad rep.

Elliott Smith - New Moon

This was an amazing album in the sense that I finally got to hear some of my favourite Elliott tracks with remastered quality. Really great job, I've got mad love for this album. Georgia, Georgia <3

Portugal. The Man - Church Mouth

This album took a totally different direction than "W:YV". A lot less electronic, and I lot more funk. Amazing album, not one weak track on the whole thing. This band releases music like animals and it only ever gets better, I see a big future for these guys in the underground sense.

Minus The Bear - Planet of Ice

First of all, I have to say that the transition between Ice Monster & Knights is my favourite transition between any two songs other than maybe Son et Lumiere and Intertiatic ESP. This is my favourite MtB album. Lotus is probably the coolest song on the album to me.

The Dear Hunter - Act II: The Meaning Of, And All Things Regarding Ms. Leading

I can't say enough about this band, and if you haven't checked them out, you need to. This band is just full of hidden talent. In my opinion Casey Crescenzo is the hidden treasure in music right now. He is an amazing songwriter and an even better singer. Black Sandy Beaches is my favourite song on this album and in my top 5 for best songs all year. Probably top 10 for all time. Like Act I, this songs is great from start to finish. Everyone should listen to this album.

Arcade Fire-Neon Bible
It was lyrically and musically solid.

Modest Mouse-We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank
With the exception of a few songs, I loved it. I listened to it for like a month straight. I just love his(Brock I think?) voice.

Across the Universe Soundtrack
I got the deluxe edition so I got absolutely everything from the movie. They massacred a few songs(While My Guitar Gently Weeps...) but I thought they did a wonderful job covering the Beatles. My favorite was Eddie Izzard singing "For the Benefit of Mr. Kite" mostly because I absolutely adore that man, but he did a really nice job. His voice fit the song really well.

Otep-Ascension
Ghost Flowers, Crooked Spoons, Confrontation, all my favorite songs I've heard played live now on a CD!
Lyrically, I love her.

When I have more time I'll add more.

They are both now merged to save confusion.

Radiohead-In Rainbows
An album that finds Thom Yorke & co. seemingly happy to keep the music simple and the ambience critical. An album that seems to get better with each listen.
Grand National-A Drink And A Quick Decision
Glorious glorious pop music from one of Britains underated bands.
Lisabo-Ezlekuak
A Portugese post punk/hardcore band that deserve attention not just in their native country.
Pig Destroyer-Phantom Limb
A supremely intense grindcore album with enough hooks to grab the casual metal fan in.
Pg.lost-Yes I Am (e.p)
Post Rock brilliance wrapped up in a small but excellent package.
September Collective-All The Birds Were Anarchists
A downtempo album with enough interesting themes to warrant multiple listens.
Porcupine Tree-Nil Recurring (e.p)
Another small but perfectly formed EP from the always excellent PT.
The Cinematic Orchestra-Ma Fleur
Achingly beautiful. Calm music for embittered souls.
Underworld-Oblivion With Bells
Still banging out consistently great and musically diverse electronica.
