Looking for a chill acoustic song to perform

Our school has music coffeehouses every month or so, and I'm trying to think of something to do. I would be singing this, with a friend on acoustic, so I'm looking for a song with really cool singing.

both are good songs- any others? my friend is more of a beginner at guitar, so maybe some simpler ones?

TheCaster 01-14-2008 06:51 PM

lucylamppost 01-14-2008 07:10 PM

I heard a girl doing Blackbird by the Beatles in a coffeehouse once, sounded nice, probably not too tough

lucylamppost 01-14-2008 09:10 PM

I did Mr. Tambourine Man once….it was a huge hit people were singing and clapping along

For newer stuff, I'd say Nickleback "should've listened" or Jett "Look what you've done". Both pretty easy.
Little more classic would be Tom Petty "last dance".

lucylamppost 01-18-2008 10:22 PM

Yes Nickleback for sure....you will make loads of friends

under 01-18-2008 11:25 PM

if you play nickelback..........should i explain more?

Nosmada 01-19-2008 11:40 AM

You Should do a Acoustic version of Time After Time by Cyndie Lauper , I think Dave Matthews does a version of it.

Tyro Prate 01-21-2008 08:11 AM

What about Don Peris? Or old Tom Waits?

under 01-21-2008 12:40 PM

Cyndi Lauper would be an amazing performance. Do something between the lines of that and throw some of the works of Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes) in there if you must.

Rainard Jalen 01-21-2008 12:59 PM

try out an acoustic version of I Wanna Love You by Akon.

under 01-21-2008 01:23 PM

basically try any song acoustically and i think it'll come out alright.

i know of someone who did the acoustic version for holy diver by killswitch engage. i thought it'd be hard to tell but he did it so well.
