Gotta go with Tom Petty. As much as I love Fu Manchu, Petty has more depth

Fu Manchu, just because of "In Search Of...". Far more defining and enjoyable than any album I've heard by any other artist in this poll (though I like them all).

Well ProggyMan, most people (who don't live on wikipedia) who have heard an artist through a friend don't tend to know the members of the duo.

My point was she probably can't name a single song, doesn't know what genre it's in, and obviously can't be bothered to spell it right. Not to mention she specifically said she dislikes all Rap except Tupac.

If i've just heard a new song I like by a band i've only just heard I don't automatically know everything about them.

I'm not much a fan of jazz yet I saw soil & pimp sessions on TV & liked them. I don't know any of their names or the exact genre they play , all I know is I like the song I heard.

Oh gods...She said she hated all Hip-Hop except Tupac, and I quoted some Slug lyrics and she didn't give any sign of recognition. She has no idea who they are, and I doubt you believe she does.

She clearly states that she's not heard any of the other bands & she's heard a song & likes it by them so she voted for them.

You're reading way too much into this , if it was me i'd be glad to see someone backing one of my choices.

Im with Proggy on this one. Don't vote for a band JUST b/c its the only one on the list that youve actually heard of, especially when youve already renounced all rap except tupac.

How about we all just chill and agree that Dirty Mef owns both Atmosphere and Tupac..especially Tupac.

She said she LIKED that one song and you know the average person is completely unaware of rap outside of MTV rap so for someone to denounce it isn't that shocking and for someone to like only Tupac isn't that shocking either since hes' better than 50 cent and all that garbage. Plus liking Tupac and one Atmosphere song isn't much of a stretch is it? This is just Proggy's typical psedo-elitist bitching that serves no purpose other than to make him feel unique in his tastes.
