lucylamppost 03-13-2008 09:58 PM

lol I thought I was so cool and hardcore for listening to them and we got free posters afterwards and yes I wore a trucker hat

cauterize_this 03-14-2008 09:58 AM

hah. I still think I'm so cool for listening to them ;) But, I have NEVER worn a trucker hat, and never will

DearJenny 03-14-2008 07:00 PM

I wish my first concert was as sweet as Nightwish....Mine was Reba when I was like seven or eight

But my first concert of choice was The Dresden Dolls.

lol...it wasn't too bad. I didn't know any of the singers or bands, and I can't remember them now.

Is there a forum for the *last* concert we went to? I would have a better answer for that one... :)

I nearly deleted that for being off topic, until I realised it really was a 'First Concert' thread.

Thats a great first gig, no matter how bad their music is, they put on an incredible show.

My first concert was The Living End at Luna Park. I was 12 I think. They were pretty sick.

I dunno. Possibly a local youth club gig, or at a place called The Mayflower watching a couple of local punk bands. I got to see Santana at the Apollo by default once, because my uncle's mate was too ill to go.
I don't remember in what order though.

kelton 03-31-2008 12:20 AM

I think it was Spoken, which would have been in like 2001 or 02. It was a great show and got me listening to good music because at the time I was mainly listening to Eminem, Nelly, and Puddle of Mudd. haha

I would kick an uncles friend in the balls to go see Santana.....

Mine was AFI in 2003 in Toronto, I liked that kind of music back then, I wouldnt go see them now though.

debradarko 04-01-2008 01:20 AM

Mine was Green Day in 2005, good concert except that I dont listen to them anymore and they did they same thing every time

infusician 04-02-2008 03:31 PM

Chubby Checkers! I just remember when he sang the Twist song that all I could think about were oreo cookies. He made the cookie famous with that song! He was a bit old when I saw him but he could still perform pretty well.

I actually listen to AFI. :bonkhead:

I like their older punk rock stuff better, though. Some of the stuff they're putting out these days, while commercial and poppy, is actually pretty good. It's catchy as hell.

As for me, haven't been to a concert yet. Unless you count George Jones when my mom was pregnant with me. xP

Cypress Hill - Bloomington, IN

provorocker 04-12-2008 03:55 AM

PaperHurricanesAndPlanes 04-12-2008 05:10 PM

My first concert was Kenny Barron, but I was too young to appreciate the music, so the first real gig I saw was Arturo Sandoval. My favorite gig though: both times I saw Victor Wooten. Regi = awesome.

jacklovezhimself 04-13-2008 01:26 AM

WARPED TOUR 04

I was ten.

Richiban 04-13-2008 02:47 AM

I'm pretty sure it was Green Day when they were touring behind Insomniac. They played a whole 35 minute set.

Speler 04-13-2008 05:04 PM

My first local gig was a ska and punk festival. It changed my life :D.

My first big show was an Eagles concert that my mom dragged me to (I did end up enjoying it though).

jacklovezhimself 04-13-2008 06:42 PM

^^ you enjoyed the Eagles?

MidwestGuy 04-13-2008 08:39 PM

First concert was Billy Joel in Iowa City. The whole atmosphere of camping overnight for tickets was a blast.

Speler 04-13-2008 09:13 PM

jacklovezhimself, yup. I don't really listen to them (anymore) but they did put on a good show.

*whew* good. Don't listen to them again. They're terrible.

kosiris666 04-15-2008 12:42 PM

My first concert was Slayer in a roller skating rink in Kent, Wa in the early 80's
