[QUOTE=Crowquill;452237]How is his music mediocre? Perhaps you should back up your opinion. Coming Up Roses is a pretty terrible example of his work since lo-fi folk really only covers his first two albums and part of his third but calling it mediocre just shows you're pretty ignorant of that genre of music and wouldn't have liked it in the first place. Listen to this and tell me he's "mediocre at best." Elliott Smith is easily one of the most talented musicians of our era.
Much much better example of a talented artist. I liked this song a lot more than the first one. I will look into more of his music. But, after hearing this and liking it, doesn't mean that if I hadn't liked it, that I would be wrong. Everyone has their own taste in music, my stinkin' brother likes Bread for crying out loud. I think they are ( except for 2 or 3 songs) one of the worst groups I have ever heard.
Since you guys keep pushing Elliott Smith, I will keep pushing Tommy Bolin I guess. I am pretty sure he has a wider range of music than just about anyone out there.

Then he plays guitar on Billy Cobhams spectrum

It's OK if you don't like his music, I won't get upset. Like I said before, we all have our own tastes.
