Wally Nightingale >>>>>>>>>>>> John Lydon

Wally Nightingale was the guitar player Steve Jones was the singer. But this was before Glen & Malcom and The Pistols

Doesn't matter who did what

Wally was an icon in waiting.

Strangely enough New Rose sounds less dated then the Pistols debut. The Damned did'nt really make the transition but New Rose still sounds a very vital component of U.K 70's Punk.

Dare I say it.
I listen to Machine Gun Etiquette much more than Never Mind The Bollocks

jackhammer 03-07-2008 06:38 PM

No I am glad you have dared to say it. Listen again to the Pistols Debut....It's a distorted Rock'n ' Roll album. A good album but...

sweet_nothing 03-07-2008 06:45 PM

It was the distorted sound music had become.

Wayfarer 03-07-2008 07:23 PM

Wow, they invented distortion too?! The Sex Pistols did everything!

It was a figure of speech. I heard someone say it to describe their sound on Punk:Attitude

The Sex Pistols are an amplified Rock and Roll band. I appreciate their music, their status etc but they were not the only band to play what they did. The Pistols owe a lot to the management that guided them.
