Curtis & Joy Division 1979
Bowdon Vale Youth Club, Altrincham Nr. Manchester 1979
Not seen this before and it captivated me. Despite the sound quality you get a real sense of what Ian Curtis was about and why he was such a mesmerizing figure to watch live. It breaks my heart to think what this band could have achieved had he lived. |
Yeah I've got that book marked on my iPod....
Ian is my favorite lyricist, he's more of a poet. |
I have a cleaned up audio of the whole gig.
Thats the only problem with Joy Division bootlegs , there are only 3 decent ones. This one , Preston Warehouse & the one in Paris they did for French radio. All the others sound like crap. |
love will tear us apart live

Closer and Unknown Pleasures are absolute bitch!
Substance is pretty meh but there's some goodz. I Love JOY DIVISION. |
.....anyway which do you guys enjoy more Closer or Unknown Pleasures
|
lol
I think Closer is fantastic, with some of Joy Division's best work. Ultimately though, Unknown Pleasures is a more cohesive and consistent album. And it has New Dawn Fades which is clearly the best Joy Division song. Therefore I must say that Unknown Pleasures is the most enjoyable Joy Division album. |

Shadowplay is one of those songs that is almost too good to be real. Jesus christ what a great song.
|
Yes there just so many tracks that give me chills especially since Ian died. Like insight, isolation, decades, wilderness, and especially 24hrs, god that song.
|
I prefer Closer I think it's much more dark and the atmosphere is haunting plus Heart and Soul and 24 Hours>all.
|
I would like Closer to be played at my funeral. Is it werid that I don't like New Order?
|
I can't listen to Atmosphere without crying
It is their greatest song |

When I first bought Unknown Pleasures my favorite tracks were disorder and she's lost control. But now they're Insight, Shadowplay, Wilderness, and New Dawn Fades.

I wonder if Boo Boo has seen this clip & realised that he's talking out of his arse when he says you can't like music for it's passion. |
IDK who Boo Boo is but...he is an idiot.

I dig Unknown Pleasures more myself...
I like the overall casual doomsday vibe of it...if that makes sense. |
