By rootsy do you mean folk? I love folk. I like Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, etc. I don't really have a good background though. When I got into folk for awhile I got hooked on Nick Drake. I have always liked Bob Dylan even since I was a kid. Neil Young was great too, but I don't know if you would call him rootsy.
