Cheap Music

Many people on MB seem to have the inside track on finding cheap music. Can y'all let us know where you get this stuff? CD's, downloads, vinyl...whatever. I have come across a few free downloads here and there, but what I really want to know if where you buy these lots of CD's for practically nothing. PLEAASE! People want to know.

P.S....Hello MODS! If there is already an open thread for this, I apologize. I did an extensive 5 second search for one and came up with nothing. Merge at will.

Where do u get your Music From?

Where does everyone get there music from? Do you guys download online or do you pick up the cds in the store. If so where. Just like an opinion.

I went from buying my cd's from Best Buy a long time ago, to downloading from iTunes to about a year ago switching to Yahoo Music & now I'm with AudioDig.net since its got alot more to offer than those other places. (Plus its Free) :p:

AudioDig didn't have Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster. I'm disappointed. :nono:

I get music any way I can, from ripping my cds, free mp3s from independants artists, or mp3 search engines.

yeah I know they've had most of my songs I wanted but a few of them they must have left out... :(

Go to used record shoppes and go through the bragain bins. That, and become friends with the manager to get them really cheap. I get mine for less than 3 bucks because of that.

I wasn't being serious. Most mp3 search engines have a lot left out. :)

I download most of my stuff now, but when a new band/album really blows me away, I order the CD from my favorite store in California, they have a great selection especially of hard to find imports. I did some i-tunes dl's but I don't have an i-pod, I listen to my music on my surround system. Also I want the full WAV file of a band I'm really into, not a compressed version so i-tunes, amazon, etc. have limited use as far as I'm concerned. Don't get me wrong checking out a new song/album in mp3 format is okay, but I'll eventually buy the CD if I really like it.

I usually stay away from remasters, partly because the sound is usually killed by overcompression, and partly because rereleases tend to drive down the price of the original CD"s to almost nothing (you can get a bunch of Elvis Costello CD's for a few bucks a pop thanks to the extensive reissue campaigns). You'll save a few bucks that way.

Charity shops are always worth a go, i've been pleasantly surprised a few times in the past.
