How about some female fronted Trip hop or are you looking for more singer songwriter type of sound?

YouTube - Silent Hill - Tears Of... - Akira Yamaoka - *OFFICIAL FULL SONG!* - OST

YouTube - Akira Yamaoka - True

YouTube - FMV Silent Hill 2 I Want Love - Akira Yamaoka

I'm looking for something that gives the same sort of...isolated, alone feeling
I would be very interested in this as well.

If this is what you're after Alfred, get these albums...

Hooverphonic - The Magnificent Tree
Kosheen - Resist
Everything But the Girl - Temperamental

^ All three of them absolute stonkers too.

Looking for some Shoegaze that's like Slowdive, Autolux, or Telescopes Thirdwave album.

So a friend of mine recommended the band Built To Spill. Anyone know a good album to start off with them?
