Hey. My friend and I heard these two hilarious songs about a year ago in this man's car, and I want to find out what they were.

One of them went:
"Mama said...I said Mama...Mama said...I said Mama" over and over again. It was ridiculous.

The other went:
"People, people, people, people!" over and over. Also ridiculous.

They weren't rock, or anything, just like jamming I guess. If anyone recognizes these songs please let me know!

Are the Bouncing Souls any good? Where's a good starting point?

I personally don't think they're worth the time but I'm sure someone will chime in with an album.

I need some good folk metal. Not folky black metal, not viking metal, nothing really associated with any particular culture, religion, or mythology.

This is the closest thing that I have to what I want at the moment.

Folk in lyrical themes, pompous in execution, some acoustic instruments, any of that would be nice.

Wow... That's so good, haven't heard of them before? Any more info?

These couple of songs might help you, but I think you may have heard them before...

This might seep a little too into Black Metal (the end parts of the song) sorry... but I think it does suit what you wanted.

One of my favourite Pain Of Salvation songs, this is softer than what you were looking for I know but it builds well throughout the song. They tend to do a lot of Folky-type metal here and there on their albums. It is used frequently on their album 'Be'.

Yeah most of my friends are going to warped tour this summer since they're into that kind of stuff and another friend of mine who has a similar music taste as me is gonna come with me and there's a couple bands there who aren't to bad and The Bouncing Souls usually come up in my "recommended for you" on last.fm.

I just listened to there most popular stuff and I don't like it to much but I'm hoping maybe I was just listening to the wrong stuff.

I always thought Andrew W.K. had a pretty bad reputation but it looks like a lot of people on there are excited for him. any opinions on that would be appreciated.

Andrew W.K.'s music can be pretty lame at times and not overly original but he does have some fun material and seems like a pretty decent guy. From what I've seen he's really into crowd participation and really promotes a good live experience. He's also worked with some cool artists and is into a lot of obscure old punk bands, so I have some respect for him. I would just get his album 'I Get Wet'. It has most of his hits. Be warned, songs rarely veer off the subject of partying. He also did an album based on the anime 'Gundam Wing' called 'Gundam Rock'. Funny stuff.

Just started having a go at some metal music. I've been playing acoustic for a while. I'm looking for some sweet rock/ metal songs to listen to and have a go at jamming to.

Depends on what kind of metal. There's so many different sub-genres.

I wouldn't mind a recommendation in the lines of drone, classical minimalism, post-rock, etcetera! Doesn't need to be within those lines either.
