For Reggae, Hip Hop, AND Electronica, listen to the Asian Dub Foundation's album Rafi's Revenge. Awesome album, and you'll find a diverse range of sounds.

I'm trying to find more bands like The Black Dahlia Murder(they fall under Melodic Death Metal, I believe). Please no bands that fall under the Metalcore genre. I can't stand breakdowns.

Wouldn't mind finding some Sonic Youth, never really listened to them though. Dunno if they're any good or shite, would like to find out.

What has been their best work?

Thanks.

People will tell you Daydream Nation. I'd say Dirty or Washing Machine to start but my personal favourite is Confusion is Sex.

Tempered Red has really awesome funky basslines, look them up on myspace.

Default looking for recommendations

Recommendations for n00bs? Sounds like I came to the right place...I’m looking for song recommendations for a little research project. If there’s a song you really like for its melodic or rhythmic qualities, I’d love to get a heads up. Here’s a survey I made to keep track of what people think:

P.S. Sorry about all the disclaimer-IRB-mumbo-jumbo cluttering the other side of the link. I swear I'm not normally that formal.

Can anyone recommend some good trip-hop? I like FORCES OF NATURE, Tsutchie, Nujabes, Fat Jon, etc. Anyone have a suggestion(s)?
