Metalcore is secretly the best genre of metal.

Would appreciate clean, dark piano recommendations in the vein of:
This is fan-made music, so you know I don't mind where the music comes from. If it sounds pretty, I'm takin' it. If it makes me feel like a beautiful prancing monster hidden away in an unnecessarily spacious, half-abandoned abode, I'm eating it right up. Please & thanks. |
More Like This: A Recommendation Thread
I assume we have one of these already, but I couldn't find it in my (admittedly meager) search.
Post a song, tell people what you like about it, and ask if they know of any similar artists or albums. I'm looking for an album that does what this song does. Looking for something similar in tone and energy. In particular, I dig the beat and the intermittent horn sections. I have listened to the entirety of Chicago II, but found it overlong and none of the other tracks really met the energy or tone of this one. Anyways, if you know of any rock/prog albums with a strong focus on badass horns, but that don't masturbate too much, please send 'em my way. |
This is right up my alley, I love early 70s music. However I really don't know too many bands that sound like Chicago. :shycouch:
One album I know that has a decent horn section is Them Changes. Buddly Miles played drums for Jimi Hendrix in Band of Gypsys. Buddy also released material on his own. Them Changes is one of my favorite albums. If it doesn't answer your question, I hope you like it anyway. Buddy Miles - Them Changes https://s25.postimg.cc/p22kd3hcv/281726343829.jpg |
The bad news: Them Changes did not fill the hole in my heart.
The good news: It was still ****in' great for different reasons and I'm glad you rec'd it. |
I liked Bar-Kays too, even though you rescinded the recommendation. ;)
Still doesn't hit the spot though. I want more horn enthusiasm--these are too smooth so far. |
Maybe you not being a noob threw off your search a bit.
