I saw them With Foxy Shazam and Fall of Troy in Orlando. God they were boring. If it wasn't for them it would of been a perfect show cause they're both incredible bands to see live.

Gentleman, i present to you; The Top 10 Most Baffling Pitchfork Ratings Of All Time! 10. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 10/10 Excuse me? 11 albums have been awarded with a perfect score from pitchfork*, but does this really need to be one of them? Sure it's a pretty good listen, and im able to find bits and pieces of really great stuff, but honestly 10/10? I still don't see the hype with In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, which was given a perfect score. Sure, I love NMH just as much as the next guy, but I just don't see how ITAOTS is "ZOMGZOMG BEST ALBUM EVAR!!11!"

Sonic Youth - NYC Ghosts and Flowers
0.0/10 f'uck pitchfork. the best album SY have done, along with Washing Machine and ATL, since Daydream. |
I'd say the NYC Ghosts and Flowers rating is spot on.
It's like Sonic Youth took every aspect I hate about them & put them all into one album. I just found the whole thing one big long monotonous forgettable dirge. Easily their worst since Bad Moon Rising and at least that has Death Valley 69 on it. |

I'm not big on any of the albums around that period and i've heard to much bad stuff so i've never really bothered. I'm curious now. |
It's not so much that it's bad , there's just nothing on it you'll remember listening to half an hour later.
It's just totally devoid of any ideas. Like Sonic Youth make Sonic Youth type noises but forget to write any songs. |
